School of Mathematics, TIFR

School of Mathematics of the Tata Institute is actively seeking applications from strong researchers in all areas of pure mathematics. TIFR has a long tradition of research in Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics, Number Theory, Lie Theory and Ergodic Theory. We seek applications in these areas as well as other areas of pure mathematics.

TIFR has a beautiful campus next to the Arabian sea where accommodation is provided for the scientific staff. The library of TIFR subscribes to most of the important journals in mathematics and has a well stocked reference library.

TIFR has recently become a Deemed University and runs a Ph.D. program but teaching is voluntary.

Candidates will be considered for one of the following positions:

Post doctoral Position: For 1 or 2 years for candidates with Ph.D. with atmost 3 years experience.
Fellow: For 5 years for candidates with Ph.D. and 3 to 5 years post-doctoral experience.
Reader and Professor are tenured appointments. Though appointments to these positions are generally made after a few years as Fellow, this may be waived for deserving candidates.
