How to fight it? Usually I put filter, but as I said above, that's not enough. Now I just try to find a real person behind the address, and bomb him/her with lots of mail until it stops sending me mail.
But just in case that does not work, I have started this page with the names of the spammers. I will never do business with these people again, and I ask you to open a similar page. Perhaps we can make a webisite?
Let's fight SPAM by stopping spammers business
- GoAir, an Indian airline, bought a ticket once, since then they send mail to be with offers I'm not interesed on. Clearly spammers, because in their website there is a Contact us form that has a 10.10.aaa.bbb IP address; that is a private address, mail will never go to that. They just want to SPAM you.
- Global Education Consultancy Services. Helps you to go abroad (meaning outside India) for studies. Kept sending mail to the webmaster account (which is not a proper account), which I read. But I have a Ph.D. from abroad, can't get anything else in my area of work...
- Saibless Holidays, a company with hotels near Mumbai. Again, sent mail to my personal and webmaster accounts; as the second one is just a convenient alias for me, I consider all the mail sent by this company as SPAM. They requested me to click somewhere to remove my name from a list I never subscribed to. I refused, and sent them around 100 mails a day for a few days. They were so "kind" as to remove my name. You won't find me spending a night in any of their hotels...
